Grateful
I am grateful to be able to greet the sun each morning and to walk in the footsteps of my ancestors, who forged a path under challenging conditions so that I might find my purpose. I enjoy the simple pleasures of life, the smell and sound of the ocean, and the laughter of children playing. I enjoy playing golf, which I learned to play much later in life. But, I soon found out that “golf is a game finding out what works, losing it, and then finding it again.”- Ken Venturi
Sports participation was the elixir that sparked my journey. I was fortunate to have developed the talent to earn college scholarships. There was always something magical about the thrill of victory and the lessons you learn from playing. After graduate school, I began another phase of my life as an educator in higher education.
I enjoyed teaching introductory courses in the fascinating social science field of Sociology. This allowed me to share knowledge and information with students about how humans interact with each other as we move in and out of different social worlds. I enjoyed teaching and training students on leadership development. But, I especially enjoyed coaching basketball, which involved developing individual talent to play as a team.
I have enjoyed traveling to different parts of the world, but I spend most of my time golfing and relaxing on the beautiful islands of Hawaii.
I have a few regrets, but none that I dwell on. I have a wonderful family, a loving wife, and sons making their path. My formative years in Detroit gave me a musical appreciation, but I remain partial to the sounds of jazz.
Now, I have entered a new phase. I have chosen to turn my attention to writing books or novels. Everyone has a story they would like to tell, and some stories should be told. So, for my enjoyment, I will embark on this challenging endeavor.
Pursue your passion, and don’t let anyone define who you are or dictate your life’s path.
Nice!!!!!
